No. HooBuy advertises a zero service fee, so a spreadsheet order costs the product price, international shipping and customs, plus a customs-declaration fee of about ¥8.00 that varies by shipping line. Add-ons such as reinforcement or insurance are optional. Two things are worth budgeting for: international shipping is charged as a deposit that is refunded or topped up after the parcel is weighed, and HooBuy's displayed exchange rate carries a markup. In our April 2026 spot check a ¥168 item was priced at $27.36, an implied 6.14 CNY per US dollar against a 6.83 mid-market rate, roughly 11% above interbank.

How long does HooBuy store items, and what does its QC cover?

HooBuy stores items free for 90 days in its third-party partner warehouses. Once that period expires, goods are treated as abandoned and destroyed, so consolidate before the deadline. On arrival each item gets a full quality check with photos, and HooBuy contacts you straight away if it finds a problem. The check has limits: electronics are inspected externally only and are not powered on, brand authenticity is not verified, colour differences and size deviations are excluded, and 1688 purchases follow a different QC standard. The number of free QC photos was not stated in the help centre when we checked.

Where is HooBuy most popular?

Brazil, by a wide margin. Similarweb data for the 28 days to 10 April 2026 puts 77.81% of HooBuy's visits in Brazil, followed by Canada (3.70%), the United States (3.44%), the United Kingdom (2.97%) and Portugal (2.35%), so Portuguese-speaking users make up about 80% of the audience. That is the most concentrated single market of any buying agent we have researched. The community is video-first: YouTube drives 82.71% of HooBuy's social traffic and Instagram 9.33%, with Reddit at only 5.38%. The official Discord server (discord.com/invite/hoobuyofficial) is the main support and discussion channel.

Can I order custom-printed items through HooBuy?

Accepted Answer

Yes. HooBuy is the only buying agent we have researched that offers print-on-demand. Upload text, a name, an image or a logo and choose a product such as a T-shirt, mug, phone case, sweatshirt or blanket. These items carry a Personalized tag, are produced with HooBuy's partner manufacturers, and can be ordered one at a time with no minimum quantity. Custom pieces go through the same quality check as ordinary orders before they ship.

Which payment methods does HooBuy accept?

HooBuy's beginner guide lists three methods: credit card, WeChat Pay and Alipay. PayPal is not among them. Similarweb outbound data shows cardpay.com as the main card gateway, and also records clicks to the CoinPal crypto checkout and the bytemax.exchange exchange, which suggests a cryptocurrency option exists even though the official guide does not spell it out.

Weidian is supported natively: HooBuy describes itself as a Weidian agent alongside Taobao and 1688, and its product pages use a dedicated Weidian source code. Yupoo album sites are HooBuy's single largest referral source at 58% of referral traffic, so sellers who catalogue on Yupoo and sell through Weidian or Taobao route naturally into HooBuy. Xianyu (Goofish), the Chinese second-hand marketplace, accounts for 8.54% of HooBuy's outbound clicks, which suggests users are also buying second-hand listings through the platform, although the beginner guide itself names only Taobao, Tmall, 1688 and JD.

Why are there so many HooBuy spreadsheets, and how does its affiliate programme work?

HooBuy runs a separate affiliate site at affiliate.hoobuy.com with four tiers: Enthusiast (4% commission on referred users' shipping), Champion (4.5%, unlocked at 6,000 growth points), MVP (5%) and Elite (5.5%). Every tier also earns a flat CNY 9.9 per invited user and a 2% second-tier commission on the shipping spend of people your referrals invite, a two-level structure we have not seen at other agents. The leaderboard's top promoter had invited 3,422 users and earned CNY 41,743.67. Those incentives explain why so many community spreadsheets embed HooBuy links.
