On the exchange rate it beats most of them, but it is not the cheapest here. Most agents on this site convert at 10% or more over the mid-market rate; GoatedBuy converts at roughly 6.35 CNY per US dollar against a mid-market rate near 6.72, about 5.8% — roughly half that, or around $6 saved on a ¥600 item. But several agents here convert lower still, and a few at or below mid-market, so check the rate on whichever agents you are actually choosing between. Two other things stop the rate from being the whole story: GoatedBuy does not publish a service-fee schedule we can read, and its shipping is quoted per route, so compare the landed total rather than assuming the cheaper rate wins every time.

Which platforms can I buy from through GoatedBuy?

It addresses Weidian, Taobao, 1688 and JD by the plain numeric item ID plus a platform name — no encrypted identifier to work around. But when we tested, only Weidian was actually returning product data: Taobao replied that its lookup allowance for the day was used up, and 1688 returned an error from its upstream source. Weidian is where most finds spreadsheet finds live, so that covers the common case, but check that a Taobao or 1688 link opens before you count on it.

Routes bill on the greater of actual and volumetric weight, so a light but bulky box can price above its mass — the estimates on this page use real dimensions for that reason.

Declare a built-in battery or magnets and five remain, with the cheapest running roughly 40% more; for watches it narrows further, to three. Declare a liquid and nothing was carriable to the United States at all when we checked. The prices on this page follow the goods category of the item you are viewing, so they already reflect this — you do not need to redo the sums yourself. For a few categories, such as luggage and belts, GoatedBuy does not offer a battery or liquid option at all, and we show nothing rather than quoting you the general-goods price for something it will not carry.
